Dr. Poormehr graduated from the University of Illinois in Biological sciences, followed by a Master’s Degree in Medical Sociology. Four years later, he received a Doctoral Degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri.

He continued his journey in a year of internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He then moved to California to be close to his family and friends, and finished his second internship in Family Practice at one of the leading bloodless surgical centers in the country: Coast Plaza Doctor’s Hospital.

   

After being licensed by the California Medical Board, he joined the Department of Family Medicine at the University of California Irvine and received his specialty diploma in Family Medicine.

 

He lives with his family in South Orange County since 1990. He believes South Orange County is a great community to raise his family. He loves the community’s diversity, tranquility, friendliness, safety and last but not least, beautiful beaches.
